On every day of New York Fashion Week, Vocativ analysts combed Instagram posts to discover social media users’ choice for the best dress of the day. Instagramers made many beautiful selections, including a pink velvet vision from Monse and Marchesa’s intricate, bejeweled masterpiece. But of these seven dresses, one stood out above all: Jeremy Scott’s “Ren and Stimpy” dress, which garnered over 11.4K likes on Nickelodeon’s official Instagram account.

Call it nostalgia or simply Scott’s amazing sense of fun, but this dress clearly struck a chord with fashion fans the world over, who “liked” it approximately 7,000 more times than they did the next most popular dress, Jason Wu’s pot leaf princess slip, which garnered 4,394 likes. Interestingly, both Scott and Wu’s dresses bore expressive, humorous graphics, perhaps indicating a desire among fashion fans to do away with staid, traditional styles, while embracing a more lighthearted take on dressing up.
