Ticket Prices For UFC’s McGregor-Alvarez Fight Are The Highest Ever

While Madison Square Garden is driving up the price, so is the headliner between McGregor and Alvarez

Do you feel it, the energy in the air, the tension, the anxiety that the world is going to pull apart this weekend? Protests have erupted across the nation in the wake of the United States electing Donald Trump, and those who voted for him have been emboldened to reportedly commit acts of hate that range from harassment to assault.

It might be in your best interest to lay low this weekend, rent some movies, and find a constructive way to channel your energy, but if this release must include some form of aggression, might we suggest Saturday’s UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden, which features arguably its best card ever, headlined by Conor McGregor’s bout with Eddie Alvarez.

We’ve been warned about attaching political meaning to this matchup — it is after all, just sports — so we won’t, but it would be oh so satisfying to see Alvarez beat McGregor’s face to a bloody pulp on Saturday night, even if it’s a superficial victory in light of the week’s events.

But if you are in New York and want to see the fight in person, better be prepared to pony up because ticket prices are through the roof. Ticket City says UFC 205 has the highest median price for a UFC event ever, and as of Monday it had the second highest maximum sale price, although they noted that they expected it to be the highest by the time of the event.

But seriously, stay home this weekend. Be safe, be well.
