Justin Bieber’s Asia tour won’t include China on its itinerary: the country banned him for his controversial behavior, citing him as a bad influence on China’s youth.

The Bieb has had to battle the press in the past after a slew of scandals, ranging from DUI arrests to rumors of him sleeping on a prostitute’s couch.

“Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer,” the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture told the fan in a statement. “In order to maintain order in the Chinese market and purify the Chinese performance environment, it is not suitable to bring in badly behaved entertainers.”

“We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public.” said the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture.
