Don’t Get Caught Watching Porn With This Motion Sensor

Getting caught watching porn is probably one of the most embarrassing things ever. Thankfully, there’s now a solution for those who live with people that simply don’t know how to knock before barging into your room.

xHamster, the adult entertainment website, is supporting a new product on Indiegogo called Minimeyes, a small motion sensor that uses infrared technology to save people from the embarrassment of enjoying porn on their computer.

Every time the wireless sensor detects the door open, it immediately hides all open windows on your desktop and automatically mutes your speakers. Minimeyes can detect anything within a 16 foot range and 90-degree angle, but its creators suggest keeping the sensor and computer within a range of up to 65 feet in order for it to work properly.

Minimeyes also developed a magnetic sensor that attaches to the door and sends signals to the computer whenever someone tries entering the room unexpectedly. Both the Minimeyes’ desk and door sensors are relatively cheap. Backers of the campaign get the cubed sensor with $48 in funding and the door sensor is shipped for $24. Both are estimated to ship in November — just in time for the holidays.

MInimeyes has no specific demographic in mind, other than porn watchers, but the products will definitely have an appeal to teenagers and college students with roommates. The sensors might be great to quickly hide what’s on your desktop, but remember that you’ll have to be just as quick in zipping up your pants.
