The Strip to the Pawn Shop: My Bitcoin-Fueled Journey Through Las Vegas

I came to the world’s largest Bitcoin convention ever—a 400-person festival—seeking answers to just a few basic questions: Who is actually using Bitcoin? Why do they use it? And am I a huge nerd for caring? (Clearly the answer is yes.)

Thankfully, the conference took place in Las Vegas, so there were plenty of diversions to keep us occupied. First, we spoke with the cyberpunks, geeks, hackers and blowhards that are using Bitcoin to profit. Then we hit the streets to hear what “real people” think about the virtual currency. Spoiler alert: Elvis loves Bitcoins.
