Are you one of those dog lovers who has the urge to pet every pup you see on the street? Yes? That’s fine. But if you’re trying to curb that impulse, there may be an app to help. Though it’s no substitute for a real pooch, the aptly-titled I Love Fur turns you into a 21st-century cat lady, letting you pet all the imaginary animals your heart desires.

So you might not be petting dogs, but you get to encounter mashed up dream creatures like Space Cucumbers, Porcupineapples, and Unicandycorns. Created by Singapore-based artist Nina Geometrieva, I Love Fur animals all have very different styles and color of fur The Porcupineapple, as you may guess, has prickly fur. The Hair-Conditioned Urchin has softer tentacles.

But here’s the rub: They all have very particular ways they want to be petted, and unlike cats, they’ll actually tell you what they like. You also have to pet each animal the way it wants before you can unlock other animals to pet. The better you are at petting these guys, the more of them you get to pet. It’s like a hyper-specific Tamagotchi.

It’s very soothing, and ultimately, it’s the closest most of us will get to petting an exotic animal. We just wish there was Harambe fur.
