This Robot Has Surprisingly Good Balance

Robots, you see, are better than humans at most things. Assembling cars. Playing chess. Killing. But humans, until this point, have kicked some serious robot ass when it came to standing on two legs and moving forward in a manner that does not seem drunk.

Well, our days of standing there and doing literally nothing supremacy may be numbered. The Atlas robot, developed by Boston Dynamics, has a lock on the sort of locomotion that most robots can only artificially dream of. Check him (or her!) standing on a two centimeter-wide piece of plywood, a la The Karate Kid.

You’re learning well, robo-grasshopper.
