Repairs To The Great Wall Of China Are Being Crowdfunded

The Great Wall of China can be seen from space. But visitors who see it up close might notice that parts of it are looking a little shabby these days.

Fixing a 13,000 mile-long wall is expensive, and so in order to fund it, The China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation went high tech, launching an online crowdfunding effort. They hope to raise $1.6 million. Thus far, they’ve only collected about $57,000.
