Singapore Startup Beat Uber To Driverless Taxis

In the race to render taxis driverless, Uber just fell behind. That’s because a start-up in Singapore just began using autonomous cars to pick up passengers.

Thus far, they’re only available in a 2.5 square mile district known as “One North.”

They’re not completely autonomous, either. They’re monitored remotely by a human controller. So I guess you could say Uber is still in the running to be the first to go truly driverless. Technically.
