Brexit Leaves Big Questions About Online Privacy

News of the UK’s pro-Brexit vote has had several days to sink in, but most major questions around it still remain unanswered. One of those big fat question marks regards what will happen to citizens of the UK when the strong online privacy protections of the European Union no longer apply to them.

Even tougher privacy laws are scheduled to go into effect in the upcoming years, right around the time that the UK will fully sever ties with the EU. So far, experts and laypeople alike are stumped about how that will look, who will benefit, and who will end up getting screwed.
