New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie is pretty good at football and goddamn amazing at baby-making, like, truly elite. The four-time Pro Bowl player has 10 children with eight different women and has twins on the way with his wife, Terricka. Mazel tov to him.

Given Cromartie’s history on this front, the fact that he has more kids incoming wouldn’t be terribly noteworthy if not for the fact that he just got a vasectomy. That’s right, Cromartie managed to get his wife pregnant despite undergoing a medical procedure with a failure rate of just 1 percent within the first five years.

So, how much does it cost to be perhaps the world’s most virile man? About $336,000 per year, according to a report by the New York Post that places his child support tab at $3,500 per month for each of the eight children he had with women other than his current wife. This is where the story gets sad: back in 2010, the Jets gave Cromartie a $500,000 salary advance so he could make overdue child support payments and the Post report includes an allegation that Cromartie is an absentee father to his many children. This allegation is made all the more believable by this video of Cromartie struggling to remember the names of his admittedly numerous progeny.

Anyway, Vocativ encourages you, possibly male reader, to use protection unless you wish to discover how you measure up to Cromartie.
