ISIS Supporters Say Rapper In Music Video Is Deso Dogg

Several ISIS supporters claimed Tuesday to recognize the voice featured in the extremist group’s latest propaganda video, insisting it’s the German rapper Deso Dogg, who U.S. officials have declared a global terrorist.

The supporters claimed the voice belonged to Deso Dogg—who once toured with DMX and whose real name is Denis Cuspert—in a flurry of posts on ISIS forums after the release of the disturbing video. Vocativ wrote about the rapper in February when the U.S. State Department named him a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.” Vocativ also noted last November that Cuspert had picked up a severed head in a mass execution video released by ISIS. Cuspert now has apparently taken the Arabic name Abu Talha al-Almani.

In the new ISIS propaganda video, the voice identified by the jihadist supporters as Deso Dogg raps in German: “To the enemies of Allah, where are your troops? We can no longer wait, O Allah destroy them! Now listen you dogs of hell, this is a message and more are going to follow. This is just the beginning.” He also promises German sleeper cells armed with suicide vests.
