A police motorcade was hit by a massive explosion during a protest in Venezuela on Sunday.

Seven officers were reportedly injured in this explosion. In the immediate aftermath, anti-government protesters could be heard applauding the blast. They were then seen dragging a charred police motorcycle through the streets of Caracas.

Though the source of the blast remains unknown, demonstrators have turned increasingly violent in the nation as Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro exerts authoritarian control over the South American country.

So far, 120 civilians have been killed during anti-government protests this year.
