Mexican Parents Push For Transparent Backpacks In Schools
Can transparent backpacks make schools safer? Some parents in Mexico are saying yes.
In an effort to reduce weapons and violence in schools, parents in Mexico are pushing for a mandatory rule to make students use see-through backpacks.
The recent push for clear backpacks comes after several deadly attacks in Mexican schools. The most recent of which happened at a school in Monterrey, where a 15-year-old student opened fire on his classmates, leaving five wounded and two dead.
While parents continue to petition school boards for a change in policy, several “high risk” schools have received donations of transparent backpacks.
