Meet The Ping Pong ‘Medal Hunter’ With Down Syndrome

Turkish ping pong player Erman Çetiner is making a name for himself in the sports world. Known as “medal hunter,” Çetiner, who has Down syndrome, feels that he overcame his disability by playing ping pong.

The 30-year-old Çetiner but has already won nearly 100 medals, including a bronze at a world championship event for players with Down syndrome. He has also been the regional champion for the last 10 years. 

So what’s next for Çetiner? By day, he still works at the Governor’s Office in Turkey, but he continues to train. Çetiner is eyeing the world championship as the next medal in his collection.
