Google Sells Its Super Creepy Robotics Company
Boston Dynamics’ robots are getting a new home. Japan’s Softbank is buying the company from Google’s parent Alphabet. Boston Dynamics has rolled out robots that have gone viral over the years, like the Wildcat, which can run at about 19mph, and the Handle, which has wheels and can lift up to 100 pounds. Softbank is no newcomer to robotics. It developed and sells the popular Pepper, a robot that responds and adapts to human emotions.
