MIT is using its innovative glass 3D-printer to experiment with larger structures. The one-ton printer can produce glass objects weighing up to 66 pounds. Unlike in traditional glass blowing, objects made in this 3D-printer can have complex features on the outside and inside. MIT hopes to eventually be able to 3D-print at an architectural scale.
