Thousands of President Donald Trump’s supporters are demanding Fox News bring back disgraced news anchor and accused serial sexual harasser Bill O’Reilly, who was officially let go from the network on April 19.

Posts, videos, and petitions decrying O’Reilly’s firing, and demands for his return were shared all over a network of pro-Trump groups on Facebook like “Drain The Swamp,” “The Deplorables,” “Taking Our Country Back,” and more. Some users in these groups attempted to grasp for reasons O’Reilly’ was dismissed, from claiming that Fox News was becoming more liberal in its coverage, that billionaire George Soros forced the network’s hand, or that it was Fox’s own fault for encouraging female anchors to dress “inappropriately.”

One prominent page, Donald Trump News, that has over 1.7 million likes, prepared a petition calling on Fox to reinstate O’Reilly. Within seven hours it had collected some 11,000 signatures out of a planned 100,000.

Many users shared Fox News’s phone number, urging others to call the network to complain. One post told readers to “give them hell.”

Some users, including women, suggested it may have been the victims’ fault because of a lack of a dress code at Fox News.

Others called on O’Reilly to turn his back on Fox and start his own network, where he would keep providing “fair and balanced reporting.”

Bill O’Reilly, who was the top-rated cable news host, was forced out of his position on Wednesday after several women working at Fox News alleged that he had sexually harassed them. The allegations prompted dozens of companies to to pull their advertisements from the show, while a host of women’s organizations called for his termination.
