The “Oscars of porn” come to Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night—and disgraced porn star James Deen could clean up. The adult actor is nominated for 33 AVN Awards (including six in the “double penetration” category alone), even after a number of women accused him of sexual assault late last year.

On November 28, Stoya, Deen’s ex-girlfriend and fellow adult film star, tweeted out allegations of rape against Deen, causing a storm of negative publicity and severed professional ties. Kink.com, the most prominent producer of BDSM porn in the US, was the first major studio to ban Deen, who had appeared in hundreds of the company’s films.

After Stoya, several other porn actresses followed suitLily LaBeau, who has performed with Deen several times, told Vocativ about an incident in which Deen hit her in the face so hard her jaw locked. She called it “the most traumatic thing that’s happened to me in my career.”

Deen would later tell the Daily Beast that he was “completely baffled” by the allegations.

Stoya hosted the XBiz Awards, another adult industry event, on January 15, where Deen and his eponymous production house were up for a total of 29 awards. The fallen porn star took home none, however. Prior to XBiz, Stoya tweeted that she would not be participating in the AVN awards and that she wished she “could get out of hosting XBiz.”

On Saturday night, Deen and his studio are in the running for 33 awards at this year’s AVNs, including six for “Best Double Penetration Scene.” Last year, Deen won three trophies, including one for “Favorite Male Porn Star.”

This year’s nominees were announced on November 19, more than a week before Stoya tweeted out her initial allegations. AVN did not respond for requests for comment by press time.
